Three years is not a long age, it’s still considered as a spring chicken. Desa Wisata Melung, Kedungbanteng subdistrict, Banyumas district, Central Java province, received the Decree of the Banyumas Regent on March 20 2020, with a lots of struggle of stakeholders since 2017, truly pioneering by utilizing the existing potential of the village with nature being the main icon. Cultural elements and local wisdom are the main supporters in the development of Desa wisata Melung.
Since becoming a tourist village, Desa Melung is located in Kedungbanteng sub-district, Banyumas Regency, Central Java, Desa Melung has received awards several times from various groups. From the Ministry of Villages PDTT RI, Desa Melung had got a nickname as Tourism Village and belonged to the Ministry of Villages website. From the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia has obtained a legal entity certificate BUM Desa Alam Lestari Melung. Not only mention the series of awards from related agencies, other institutions and communities. Visits from various individuals, families, communities, government agencies have also become a place for comparative studies in Desa Wisata Melung. Now it’s called a Tourism Village in 3 years old.
What has been done and obtained by Desa Wisata Melung certainly is a reference for the better future. The challenges of the times must be able to be answered with a contemporary innovative program. A village that is said to be a tourist village certainly has limits when the tourist village is in hand, as long as it is still capable and consistent in the world of tourism. At the age of 3 years, Desa Wisata Melung, by hoping that Desa Wisata Melung, Kedung Banteng District, Banyumas Regency, will continue to develop and progress. The impact of disasters is influenced by community knowledge and skills related to their knowledge of disaster mitigation. Communities with adequate knowledge and skills in disaster mitigation suffer less than those without adequate knowledge and skills. They are prepared to be rescued and rehabilitated.
Banyumas, Kedungbanteng – On Tuesday 14 March 2023 Desa Melung, Kedungbanteng District, Banyumas Regency, carried out Bantuan Langsung Tunai Dana Desa or known as BLT DD (A program that give cash to poor families in the village sourced from the village fund). It is one of the Village Fund programs in 2023, in accordance with Village Regulation No. 8 of 2022 regarding priority use of village funds. This program has been implemented since three years ago as a form of government concern for the people affected by the Covid-19 disaster, especially poor families.
The 2023 BLT DD program in Desa Melung, Kedungbanteng District, Banyumas Regency covers 33 families with a nominal value of IDR. 300,000 every month. In the first period from January to March, IDR 900,000 per family, for 12 months starting from January 2023 to December 2023.
Timbul Yulianto as Village Secretary of Desa Melung, said that BLT DD is one of the Jaring Pengaman Sosial (An unplanned social assistance in the form of money given to residents or non-residents whose provision is in accordance with specified requirements.) programs sourced from Village Funds provided by the Village Government to village communities through the results of special village discussion, thus being on target is an absolute thing that must be fulfilled for the community.
Supriyadi as the Local Village Facilitator for Kedungbanteng Subdistrict, Banyumas Regency also said, “In accordance with the 2023 Regulations, BLT DD is a priority activity to reduce the rate of extreme poverty in the Village by referring to the Targeting Data for the Pensasaran Percepatan Penghapusan Kemiskinan Ekstrim (P3KE) which has been issued by districts by prioritizing decile one. The hope is that this activity can be right on target so that it can reduce the poverty rate in Desa Melung, Kedungbanteng subdistrict, Banyumas district.
SMP N 3 Kedungbanteng held a social service in order to welcome the Holy Month of Ramadhan 1444 H which was attended by teachers and all students of SMP N 3 Kedungbanteng. This social service activity was carried out on the sidelines of teaching and learning activities for SMP N 3 Kedungbanteng students and was held on Monday 20 March. It was done in several places which were in Mosque, Mushola (a prayer room), a school building and a village office.
All participants were involved in the social service event from the Principal, Teachers and also the students of SMP N 3 Kedungbanteng. They were divided into several groups and each group was accompanied by 4-5 teachers. The aim of holding this activity was to increase the spirit of student togetherness, mutual cooperation, to care for the surrounding environment and to get to know places of worship and regional village offices as stated by Farid Akhmad Toga, S.Pd. as a teacher at SMP N 3 Kedungbanteng.
This year is the 33rd World Water Day. KTH (A group of farmers who manage business in the forestry sector inside and outside forest areas) Pagur Gunung Desa Melung commemorated it by planting avocado tree seeds along the Banjaran watershed. This activity is carried out by local people who care about the environment.
Thirty three avocado tree seedlings were planted along the Banjaran watershed. Narwin as the Chairperson of KTH Pager Gunung said that this activity aims to commemorate World water Day, as well as to maintain the availability of water.
